7 Mantras to clear civil service exam

AS most Indian youth still want to be IAS officers, the civil service examination continues to be a tough battleground. Now from 2011, the format will change to CSAT (Civil Services Aptitude Test) in place of the existing preliminary exam. And only those who clear CSAT will be eligible take the main exam followed by an interview.
In a recent article in Times of India, a few mantras were highlighted to ensure success in IAS exam.
1) Hunger to excel and to keep your vision alive
2) A focused mind and a practical roadmap.
3) Digest IAS Prelims Magic Book, followed by the NCERT book along with other reference books.
4) Reading newspapers is a must. Landmark events and breaking news reports need to be noted on a daily basis. Reading Year Books is a must.
5) Practice and practice again. Take as many mock tests as possible.
6) Once the CSAT is over, concentrate on the mains and give emphasis on writings too. Keep preparing for interviews even at the time you are concentrating on mains.
7) At times, you may want to give up. But make sure you are organised and calm.
